Patriots owner Robert K. Kraft awards $100K catalyst challenge gift

Big news! New England Patriots owner Robert K. Kraft has pledged a generous $100,000 catalyst challenge gift over two years to Career Collaborative. As you can imagine, we’re incredibly pleased and grateful. Mr. Kraft is going to match all new, incremental, and multi-year pledges inspired by his catalyst grant up to $100,000. We have already raised nearly $25,000 toward our $100,000 goal, which will fund the expansion of a pilot program of night sessions and launch weekend sessions of our Job Readiness and Job Search courses. This will allow us to meet client demand for more flexible scheduling of our popular courses. The gift will also fund additional staff needed to run the courses and adapt the curriculum so that it can work during a compressed class time.

“We’re excited to expand our capacity to offer evening and weekend classes for those who want to attend our program but cannot because they already have daytime family- or employment-related commitments,” said Susan Yule, President and CEO of Career Collaborative. “Mr. Kraft’s generous gift will make a tangible difference in the lives of people who are eager to build fulfilling careers that can support their families.”

The new classes will include a four-week evening Job Search and Job Readiness Course offered in September 2017 and in Fall 2018, and two weekend Job Search and Job Readiness courses offered over six Saturdays each in both Fall 2017 and 2018. Once completing the program, participants will also receive two years of employment counseling, which is the final phase of our three-pronged approach to helping participants build careers.

We’re proud of our program results: when clients come to Career Collaborative, their annual incomes range from $2,000 to $11,000. Two years after completing the program, 70 percent of participants are still employed, and their median income is $30,000. Our two-year employment retention rate of 70 percent is one of the highest among programs of our kind in the country.

We’re thrilled to be entering this exciting period of growth that will result in even more people taking steps to build a life-changing career. Watch this space for updates!
