Opportunity: We're looking for a manager of career coaching

Career Collaborative is growing and has created a new position: Manager of Career Coaching

As the leader of our signature post-placement career coaching model, the Manager of Career Coaching is responsible for leading and motivating a team of career coaches to successfully meet and exceed program expectations. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, s/he is responsible for managing activity of the career coaching team through pro-active coaching to help clients retain jobs, advance careers and meet financial goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the coaching team to success in career coaching and career mentoring services

  • Pro-actively coach clients to help them retain their jobs, advance in their careers, and meet financial goals

  • Sustain the practice of attaining higher than industry standards for job retention

  • Ensure key metrics are measured, managed and updated regularly

  • Review results with the staff monthly to encourage new strategies for exceeding expectations

  • Communicate success with employees, volunteers, donors, board members and employer partners

  • Provide on-site leadership for all career program participants

  • Teach classes from our proprietary curriculum in job search and career advancement

  • Build relationships with volunteers through training and management of engagement in career coaching

  • Build relationships with employers to promote hiring, retention and career advancement of participants

  • Develop cooperative relations with community organizations and leaders

  • Manage special projects and events to support participants' career advancement


  • Experience as a career coach in workforce development programs

  • Experience managing a team to achieve success using goals and metrics to measure results

  • Understanding of the barriers faced by low-income adults that make continuous employment difficult

  • Knowledge of employment regulations and the social skills that contribute to successful employment

  • Experience successfully managing multiple and competing priorities

  • Results oriented individual with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail

  • Proven ability to handle competing priorities and think critically using sound judgment

  • At least 3 - 5 years of related professional work experience related business experience preferred.
